Questions parents ask
How much should I be "teaching" my child at 3–5 years?
At 3–5 years, almost none of it looks like teaching. NEP 2020 says this stage should be play-based and activity-based. Pre-reading, early maths and self-care all grow out of play, stories and real jobs at home. Everyday talk, play and real jobs at home do the work.
Do I need to buy anything?
No. Every activity here starts with things you already have — steel katoris, dal, cloth, cardboard, your own voice. Anything you could buy is optional and never necessary.
Is my child behind if they can't do these yet?
Children vary widely and normal ranges are wide. These are things to try, not tests to pass. For any specific worry about development, our milestone tracker and your paediatrician are the right first stops.
