When do I ovulate?
Ovulation occurs about 14 days before your next period. For a 28-day cycle, this is around Day 14. Our calculator adjusts the date based on your actual cycle length and luteal phase. Women with shorter cycles (e.g., 24 days) ovulate earlier (around Day 10), and those with longer cycles (e.g., 35 days) ovulate later (around Day 21).
What is the fertile window?
Your fertile window is the 6-day window ending on ovulation day — five days before ovulation plus ovulation day itself. Sperm can survive up to 5 days in the female reproductive tract, so having intercourse in the days leading up to ovulation is effective. The 2 days before ovulation and ovulation day itself are the most fertile.
How do I confirm I am ovulating?
Signs of ovulation include: egg-white cervical mucus, mild one-sided pelvic pain (mittelschmerz), and a positive LH surge on an ovulation predictor kit (OPK). You can also track your basal body temperature (BBT) — a sustained 0.2°C rise indicates ovulation has occurred. Home OPK tests are widely available on Amazon India at affordable prices.
Does PCOS affect ovulation?
Yes. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) can cause irregular or absent ovulation (anovulation), making cycle-based calculators less reliable. When should I have intercourse to conceive?
