Monday
Skipping ladder
Skip rope in sets — ten, then fifteen, then twenty — with a rest between. Note the best set of the week on a chart.
You need: a skipping rope, a chart
Screen budget
Agree a weekly screen budget in minutes and let your child spend it across the week on a paper chart, deciding when and on what.
You need: a paper chart, a pencil
Tuesday
Explain it to dadi
Ask your child to teach a grandparent or younger sibling something they learned this week, in their own words, with one example.
You need: just talk
Stop-motion story
Draw the same scene on five or six cards with one small change on each, then flip them fast. Storyboarding without any device.
You need: index cards, crayons
Wednesday
Fair test
Grow two moong beans, one in light and one in a dark cupboard, and change nothing else. Measure them daily and keep a chart.
You need: moong, cotton, 2 katoris, a ruler
Spot the difference walk
Walk the same lane twice a week and list what changed since last time — a new poster, a repainted gate, a shop sign. Compare notes.
You need: a notebook, a pencil
Thursday
Own the morning list
Write the morning routine as a short checklist together and let your child run it alone for a week, ticking each step.
You need: a chart, a pencil
Rose, thorn, bud
At dinner each person shares one good thing, one hard thing, and one thing they are looking forward to. No fixing, just listening.
You need: just talk
Friday
Twenty-minute focus block
One task, a visible timer, phone out of the room. Twenty minutes on, five off. Track how many blocks happen in a week and celebrate the count, not the marks.
You need: a timer, a notebook
Read to find out
Pick a question your child asked this week and find the answer together in a book or magazine, not a screen. Read the page aloud in turns.
You need: a book or magazine
Saturday
Homework corner
Set up one fixed, clutter-free spot for schoolwork with everything needed in a single box. Same place, same time, every day.
You need: a box, a lamp, a clear surface
Grocery bill check
Hand over a grocery bill and ask them to check the total, find the most expensive item, and work out the change from a round amount.
You need: a grocery bill, a pencil

Questions parents ask
Do I need to buy anything for these activities?
No. Every activity in the planner uses things a typical Indian home already has — katoris, dal, cloth, paper, your own voice. Nothing needs to be bought.
How much time does a day take?
Two short activities a day, roughly 15–25 minutes in total. You can do them any time, together or spread across the day.
Is this a syllabus my child must complete?
No. It is a menu of playful ideas matched to your child's age, in the spirit of NEP 2020's play-based approach. Skip, repeat or swap freely — following your child's interest matters more than finishing the list.
