Monday
Low-shelf tray
Set two or three safe objects on a low tray within reach and let baby choose and explore one at a time.
You need: a low tray, two safe objects
Kitchen orchestra
Let baby bang a katori with a wooden spoon. Different vessels make different sounds.
You need: katoris, a wooden spoon
Tuesday
One katori, two katoris
Tap one katori and say "one", then two katoris and say "two". Repeat with three. No test, just rhythm and words.
You need: 3 steel katoris
Peek-a-boo with a dupatta
Hide your face, then a toy, under a dupatta and reveal it. Baby learns things still exist when hidden.
You need: a dupatta
Wednesday
Tummy-time treasure
Lay baby on their tummy on a mat; place a spoon or bright cloth just out of reach to encourage lifting and reaching.
You need: a mat, a steel spoon
Read one board book
Point at pictures and name them. Let baby mouth the book — that counts as exploring it.
You need: any board book
Thursday
Screen-free first year
Keep screens off during play and feeds; if a video call is needed, keep it short and name what baby sees ("that is dadi!").
You need: a phone face-down, a sand timer
One toy on the mat
Put a single object on the play mat and let your baby explore it fully before offering another. One thing at a time is how attention starts.
You need: a play mat, one safe object
Friday
Mirror faces
Hold baby at a mirror and make happy, surprised and silly faces; name each one.
You need: a mirror
Narrate your chores
Talk through whatever you are doing ("now we pour the dal…"). Pause so baby can "reply" with sounds.
You need: your voice
Saturday
Follow the katori
Move a shiny steel katori slowly from side to side about 30 cm from your baby and let their eyes follow it. Stop when they look away.
You need: a steel katori
Wipe-and-bib routine
Narrate and involve baby in putting on a bib before food and wiping hands after: "arms up… all clean now."
You need: a bib, a small hand towel

Questions parents ask
Do I need to buy anything for these activities?
No. Every activity in the planner uses things a typical Indian home already has — katoris, dal, cloth, paper, your own voice. Nothing needs to be bought.
How much time does a day take?
Two short activities a day, roughly 15–25 minutes in total. You can do them any time, together or spread across the day.
Is this a syllabus my child must complete?
No. It is a menu of playful ideas matched to your child's age, in the spirit of NEP 2020's play-based approach. Skip, repeat or swap freely — following your child's interest matters more than finishing the list.
